Job Posting: Lead Carpenter/Remodeling Specialist (Kitchens, Bathrooms, Basements (5 Years Minimum Experience)

Location: Conshohocken, PA (Savage Remodeling)
Type: Full-time

Savage Remodeling is an established residential remodeling company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and interior renovations. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Carpenter/Remodeling Specialist who takes pride in quality workmanship and can help keep projects organized, productive, and moving forward.

This is a working lead position, not a supervisory-only role. You will be on the tools every day while helping coordinate the work of other carpenters/remodelers.

We are looking for someone who can think ahead, solve problems, communicate clearly, and take ownership of the work without needing constant direction.

Location

We are based in Conshohocken, PA (ZIP 19428). Most projects are in Conshohocken or within a 30–40 minute radius.

Applicants must live within approximately 25 miles of Conshohocken. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on residential remodeling work, including framing, doors and trim, cabinetry, flooring, tile, drywall, and finish carpentry.
• Coordinate daily tasks and provide clear direction to other carpenters.
• Read plans, understand project scopes, and plan the sequence of work.
• Anticipate upcoming steps, materials, and potential problems before they delay progress.
• Perform accurate measuring, layout, cutting, and installation.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and identify issues before work proceeds to the next stage.
• Communicate with the owner regarding progress, material needs, questions, and jobsite concerns.
• Work respectfully and professionally in occupied homes.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced carpenters while maintaining a productive working environment.

Skills and experience

The right candidate should have strong hands-on experience in residential remodeling, including:

• Finish carpentry: interior doors, casing, baseboard, trim, and cabinetry
• Residential framing: walls, openings, and modifications to existing structures
• Tile installation experience strongly preferred, especially bathroom remodeling
• Drywall installation, repairs, and finishing
• Flooring installation
• Accurate measuring, layout, and problem-solving
• Working in older homes where walls, floors, and ceilings are not always square or level
• Understanding how different phases of a remodeling project affect one another
• Some plumbing and electrical experience is a plus

Leadership expectations

You should be comfortable giving clear instructions, answering questions, helping less-experienced employees improve, and addressing problems calmly and professionally.

You must be able to accept feedback, adapt to company procedures, and communicate disagreements constructively.

Strong carpentry skills are essential, but so are reliability, patience, sound judgment, and the ability to work well with others.
