Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting plants, gardening tools, and outdoor décor tailored to their needs
- Provide informed recommendations on annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, evergreens and houseplants.
- Support Commerical and Contractor Clients by:
- Assisting with plant selections based on product specs
- Preparing orders for pick up
- Coordinating availability, substitutions and special requests
- Ensure accurate pricing and timely service.
- Ability to offer guidannce on planting. watering, soil needs, sun exposure, and general garden questions.
- Ability to maintain plant displays and stock. watering and pruning, rotating, organizing and cleaning as needed.
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing merchandise, replenishing inventory, and ensuring attractive displays through effective merchandising
- Support floral design projects and assist with plant care to maintain healthy displays and seasonal arrangements
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure products are properly labeled and accessible for customers
- Offer multilingual support when needed to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Qualifications
- Passionate about gardening, horticulture, and outdoor living with some knowledge of lawn care and landscape maintenance techniques
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; strong organizational skills are essential
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math to ensure accurate transactions
- Knowledge of floral design or gardening techniques is advantageous but not required; willingness to learn is key
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks related to stocking and merchandising
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude and proactive approach to assisting shoppers
