Director of Finance

Saunders Brothers is a family-owned agricultural business that has been growing plants, fruit, and people since 1915. We’re seeking a Director of Finance to join our Executive Leadership Team and provide financial insight and leadership to help shape our future.

What You’ll Do

· Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance.

· Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to guide strategic and operational decisions.

· Monitor cash flow, profitability, and key performance indicators to ensure long-term financial health.

· Manage relationships with accountants, auditors, insurers, financial institutions, and government agencies, including loans, grants, risk management, and insurance.

· Lead and develop the Finance and IT teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

· Provide the CEO with regular financial and IT updates and insights.

· Model Saunders Brothers’ Core Values and support other organizational needs as required.

What You’ll Need to Bring to the Table

· A strong foundation in financial accounting & reporting

· Experience in financial planning & analysis

· Strong understanding of risk management and internal controls

· A collaborative leadership style grounded in integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

· Experience leading cross-functional teams and building high-performing departments.

Your Background & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field highly preferred.

· CPA designation preferred but not required.

· Ten or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience.

· Five or more years of leadership experience managing and developing teams.

· Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and organizational leadership.

· Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite, and financial reporting tools.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Posted rate of $90-115k per year with eligibility for annual bonuses.

· This is a full-time, year-round position. Additional hours may be required during peak periods.

Supervisor: This position will answer directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Saunders Brothers.
