Job Title: Bus Driver
The Bus Driver, under the direction of the Education and Disabilities Supervisor, is responsible for providing safe and secure transportation to and from school and on field trips. The role involves adhering to Federal, State, and Tribal regulations.

Physical Requirements: This position involves heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), frequent walking, sitting, reaching, handling items, and bending. It also requires exposure to various working conditions including weather, vibration, and air quality.
Requirements:Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
Experience: One year preferred.
Certification/License: Must have a valid CDL driver's license with P&S Endorsements or obtain within two weeks of hire. Additionally, State of Michigan Bus Drivers Certifications and CPR/First Aide Certification are required. An annual background check and TB Testing will be performed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent public relation/customer service skills, flexibility with work schedule, and understanding of Ojibwa Culture and Language are desired.

- Schedule a safe and efficient bus route.
- Transport children to and from school and occasional field trips.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained bus.
- Plan and implement emergency bus evacuation drills.
- Keep detailed records of trips and maintenance.
- Ensure up-to-date emergency medical contact information for each child.
- FOLLOW ALL TRANSPORTATION REGULATIONS.
- Document mileage, gas usage, maintenance, cleaning, etc.
- Ensure location and proper use of safety devices such as flares, triangles, seat belt cutters, etc.
- Stay aware of traffic situations and weather conditions.
Additional Duties:
- Evacuate children during emergencies and monthly drills.
- Assist with other tasks when not driving.
- Monitor and guide Bus Aides while en route.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
