JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SPECIFICS Title: Radiological Technologist II
FTE: Per diem Schedule: Variable 8-hour and 12-hour shifts Holiday
Rotation: Rotating holidays (1-2 per year) Weekend Rotation: Rotating
weekend On Call Requirements: Rotating call schedule POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures,
including CT scans and/or mammography, at a technical level that does
not require constant supervision but does require good judgment.
Operates ionizing radiation equipment using ingenuity and initiative to
apply prescribed protocols related to radiology technology for the
diagnosis of various diseases and injury. Assumes responsibility for
coordinating procedures, quality assurance and record keeping as related
to departmental policy, radiation safety and attending to the patient\'s
Needs. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Receives, Positions And
attends to patients. Abstracts pertinent data from patient, family
and/or patient record. Performs all diagnostic radiology procedures,
which may include CT and/or mammography, properly sets technique and
protocol to maximize exam quality. Performs EKG\'s and peripheral
vascular studies. Understands the principles of radiation physics and
maintains both patient and operator safety. Injects contrast media after
receiving proper instruction. Keeps equipment in working order;
recognizes equipment malfunction and reports appropriate information to
department director. Critique images to ensure quality examination is
submitted for interpretation. Verifies images to ensure timely
interpretation of examination. Assists with file room duties. Maintain
strict patient confidentiality. Completes post procedure requirements
and enters necessary data in Hospital information system. Maintains
required CEU\'s. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education: Required: Diploma from
a two-year program in Science of Radiographic Technology from an
accredited technical college or hospital-based program Preferred: None
Experience: Required: 2-5 years Preferred: None Licenses and
Registrations: Required: State of Wisconsin licensure to provide medical
radiographic services Preferred: None Certification(s): Required:
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiology (R) and
either Computed Tomography (CT) or Mammography (M); Basic Life Support
