receivable department in billing, policies and procedures, technology

Duties Responsible for assisting the BAS Manager with set-up and
maintenance of billing components in the Electronic Record System
(AVATAR) which include (but not all inclusive) guarantor and service
code maintenance, set-up of insurance charge categories, electronic
billing and electronic receipting of payment, exporting and importing of
billing rates, enter sliding fee scale information as well as developing
reports and assisting in enhancing the Electronic Record System. Ensure
compliance with all policies, procedures and guidelines for billing set
by Human Service programs, State Statute, HIPAA and billing vendors.
Participate in the training, advising, monitoring, and leading new and
current billing staff. Process claims for agency programs in electronic
and/or paper form, ensuring program requirements are being met,
producing reports, and researching denials. Ensure all claims are
submitted within billing deadlines. Ensure claim denials, exceptions or
exclusions are timely followed up on. Utilize available reports to
follow up on open or unpaid claims. Review credit balance report and
adjust accounts. Regularly meet with the Business and Administrative
Services Manger to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues or billing
obstacles. Perform adjustments on client accounts and verify charges are
going to the right guarantor. Interact with staff, clients, payers and
agencies to answer questions, obtain information and resolve issues.
Prepare and submit reports upon request. Assist in the creation of
manuals and protocols. Credentialing/re-credentialing providers with
in-network insurance companies. Perform billing duties in absence of
other billing staff. And other duties as assigned. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Supervisory/Lead Worker experience
related to Accounts Receivable/Billing Preferred: 3 years billing
experience Experience with insurance, Medical Assistance and Medicare
