We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Support Specialist to join our technology team! In this role, you will be the frontline support in both the home office, as well as local datacenter jobsites under construction, for resolving technical issues, deploying and maintaining computer systems including mobile devices and printers, and ensuring seamless IT operations across the organization. Your enthusiasm for problem-solving and customer service will drive your success as you support users, troubleshoot hardware and software challenges, and contribute to a robust IT infrastructure. - Provide expert-level technical support to end-users via help desk tickets, phone, or in person, ensuring swift resolution of issues related to hardware, software, internet and network connectivity
- Manage computer systems including installation, configuration, updates, and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows, macOS and iOS.
- Troubleshoot software problems across various platforms including Windows and macOS environments using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy
- Support computer networking tasks such as LAN (Local Area Network) setup, VPN (Virtual Private Network) access, firewall configurations, and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Maintain and manage computer hardware components including desktops, laptops, peripherals, mobile and network devices to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with IT infrastructure management by supporting servers, firewalls, switches, routers, and other network equipment
- Document incidents and resolutions accurately in ticketing systems to ensure clear communication and continuous improvement of our knowledge base
- Travel within the Columbus area to various construction jobsites to support software deployment, hardware upgrades, print and user issues, or network enhancements
- Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users while providing excellent customer service
- Proven experience providing technical support in a help desk, desktop support or hardware troubleshooting and repair role
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (various versions), macOS, iOS devices and Android phones
- Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts such as LAN setup, VPNs, firewalls, and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Familiarity with IT support tools and ticketing systems
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and maintenance procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to productivity applications such as Microsoft M365
- Excellent communication skills with a customer service-oriented approach
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers and network devices is preferred
