Responsibilities:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to design new products and custom solutions to ensure that the designs meet operational, safety, and performance standards for maritime defense applications
- Design and develop customized compressor solutions for naval ships, submarines, and support vessels
- Create detailed P&IDs and support design documentation
- Maintain bills of materials and bills of operations in ERP
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and testing to ensure proper design
- Ensure design feasibility for manufacturing, service, and logistics
- Develop risk assessments for new product lifecycle implementation
- Review and improve existing designs to enhance performance with budget conscious decisions
- Maintain and support engineering change orders.
- Support and develop design processes to comply with ISO 9001:2015.
- Prioritize tasks throughout multiple job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering required
- (4-6) years related naval industry experience
- Air system design and integration onboard vessels preferred
- Experience with ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) required
- Experience and understanding of military specification codes associated with welding, shock, vibration and EMI preferred
- Government contract review and compliance experience required
- ERP system experience required (Kinetic Epicor preferred)
- Must have experience working in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, within high-paced environment
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Clear understanding of design and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating bills of materials required
- Technical documentation creation and review required
- Experience working under ISO:9001 required
- 2D/3D modeling software and FEA experience required
- Proven self-starter with a strong initiative to drive designs to completion
- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance (as required)
