Shipping Associate

We build healthcare furniture and are looking for a SKILLED manufacturing shipping associate. There is minimal forklift operation involved.
1st shift - 6:30a to 3:00p
Previous manufacturing shipping experience and good attendance are a MUST for this small department. There is minimal forklift operation involved.
$16.50 to start, depending on experience

What You’ll Do

• Own daily outbound shipping operations, including truck scheduling, carrier coordination, and load planning
• Prepare and oversee shipment of large, heavy, and oversized products, ensuring proper packaging and secure loading
• Coordinate domestic shipments using UPS, FedEx, LTL, and FTL carriers
• Communicate directly with carriers to resolve shipping delays, claims, and service issues
• Review shipping priorities and adjust schedules to meet production and customer demands
• Train and support shipping team members; serve as a functional lead in the department
• Partner closely with Operations and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery
• Prepare to assume full managerial responsibility for shipping operations within 12-18 months

What You’ll Bring
Required Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on shipping experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Demonstrated experience loading trucks and securing large or heavy freight
• Working knowledge of UPS, FedEx, LTL, and freight carriers
• Experience scheduling trucks and coordinating outbound freight
• Ability to read bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping documentation
• Experience acting as a lead, trainer, or go-to person for shipping functions

Preferred / Strongly Desired

• Experience supporting or backing up a Shipping Manager or Supervisor
• Exposure to freight claims, carrier negotiations, or shipping KPIs
• Experience in a role with decision-making authority, not just execution
