Duties
- Process payroll using advanced payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile payroll data through detailed analysis of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS systems while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions, benefits administration, and tax filings
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure proper benefits administration, tax withholding, and compliance with governmental regulations
- Conduct account reconciliation activities to verify the accuracy of payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Generate reports for management on payroll costs, tax liabilities, and other financial metrics using financial software tools
Skills
- Proficiency with payroll management systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft
- Strong knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks and other bookkeeping tools
- Solid understanding of financial concepts related to payroll, taxes, benefits administration, and non-profit or governmental accounting if applicable
- Expertise in data entry, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data accurately and identify discrepancies or issues quickly
- Familiarity with human resources processes including HRIS systems and benefits administration procedures
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation tasks with precision using 10 key typing skills and technical accounting knowledge
