What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baseball Coach position at Saucedo Baseball Academy?
Position Overview:
This Baseball Coach will be responsible for mentoring athletes in the SBA Lions baseball program (Ages 8-16), and contributing to player development during the baseball off-season (November-April), and the summer playing season (April – July). This position requires someone with strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and a desire to inspire athletes. Candidates with high school coaching or college-level playing/coaching experience are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Development:
- Provide individualized coaching to help players refine their mechanics, situational awareness, and competitive mindset.
- Evaluate and monitor player progress throughout the season to ensure improvement.
- Game Day Coaching:
- Managing the team during games, including lineup decisions, substitutions, and in-game strategies.
- Provide real-time feedback to players to encourage continuous improvement.
- Promote sportsmanship and teamwork among players both on and off the field.
- Team Support & Communication:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with athletes and their families to encourage a positive, supportive environment.
- Communicate schedules, practice updates, and other important information in a timely manner.
- Uphold the values and mission of Saucedo Baseball Academy by modeling professionalism, dedication, and integrity.
Qualifications:
- High school baseball coaching experience or college-level playing/coaching experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Strong ability to motivate, mentor, and engage with players of varying skill levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with players, parents, and staff.
- A passion for player development and helping athletes reach their next level.
- Availability for practices from November through April.
- Availability for games and team activities from April through July.
