JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS SOCCER HEAD COACH STEVENS HIGH SCHOOL
OVERVIEW
- Under the supervision of the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Director, the Junior Varsity Coach will work to coordinate the Stevens High School Boys Soccer program
- Develop and establish a high-quality program founded on sound principles, strong team values, and the ethics of hard work, commitment, loyalty, honesty, respect and sportsmanship all within a fun learning atmosphere
- Help to communicate all information regarding the Stevens High School Boys Soccer program to the parents, and community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
ABILITY TO:
- Work cooperatively with the Head Varsity Coach, administration, staff, parents, community and key stakeholders of SHS Boys Soccer
- Motivate and connect with our student athletes
- Be an integral member of a program that spans grades 6-12
- Work cooperatively with and support all other coaches in serving the needs and interests of all student/athletes
- Combine the reinforcement of basic skills with advanced skills needed for a competitive soccer program
- Communicate with Athletic Trainer to ensure safety and healthiness of student athletes
- Utilize Strength & Conditioning Coach for conditioning of student athetes
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- High School Soccer and the complexities of the game/events
- Current NFHS and NHIAA rules, policies and procedures
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Commitment to program and helping the growth of student athletes
- Strong work ethic coupled with great leadership
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to student athletes
- Superior organizational skills
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Red Cross First Aid certificate, including CPR training
- NFHS and NHIAA coaching requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least three years of successful Middle School and/or High School or Club level experience preferred
- Participation as a Soccer athlete at the high school or collegiate level preferred
