Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide specialized instruction and interventions aligned with IEP goals.
- Implement behavior management and support plans as needed.
- Track and document student progress and maintain required records.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with families and encourage parent involvement.
- Coordinate with outside agencies and service providers when appropriate.
- Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Knowledge of special education practices, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
- Understanding of differentiated instruction and data-informed decision making.
- Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to effectively use educational technology and student data systems.
Certification/Licensure
- Valid State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related education field required.
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
- Prior experience teaching students with disabilities preferred.
