As an Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs within the classroom environment. Your passion for education and commitment to fostering an inclusive atmosphere will empower students to thrive academically and socially. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and provide tailored support that meets each student’s unique requirements.
What you’ll do
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs, ensuring that students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Support classroom management by helping maintain a positive learning environment conducive to all students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in literacy, math, and other subjects, adapting materials as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers in lesson planning and curriculum development to enhance educational experiences for students with disabilities.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, employing effective behavior management strategies to promote positive outcomes.
- Engage in early childhood education practices that support childhood development and learning readiness.
Preferred basic qualifications (We will train you. The below is a plus)
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
