What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer - Plastics position at Satyam Venture Engineering Services?
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical solutions in the quotation phase according to customer requirements and company standards.
- Prepare and provide technical design review (TDR) document to win new business.
- Provide engineering hours and cost information in the quotation phase.
- Conduct product design and create 3D model/2D drawing in NX or CATIA, relative technical specifications and documents
- Conduct tolerance calculations and implement them into designs.
- Conduct design reviews and close open issues found in the review.
- Work out mechanical design timing plan based on project timing.
- Manage product design status (timing, risks, customer requirements), and escalate to the correct level if necessary.
- Provide technical support for DV and PV testing plan.
- Troubleshoot in the development phase and support field complaints.
- Participate in DFMEA and FMEA as lead and moderator.
- Join and support trial runs in the manufacturing plant before SOP.
- Directly interface with the Customer regarding product design, specification development, work requests, and cost reduction activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline and a minimum of 8 years of Product Design Engineering experience within the automotive industry.
