Due to growth Greco Structures is adding a Director of Operations to our corporate team in Houston. The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all field and operational activities for the concrete contracting business. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Director of Operations provides strategic leadership across project management, field operations, equipment utilization, workforce performance, and continuous improvement, while partnering closely with estimating, safety, finance, and executive leadership. Must have experience leading a large structural concrete contractor with project experience in the $10-100 mil range. Greco focuses on Data Center, Medical/Hospital, High Rise, Waste Water, and other major concrete projects.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead and manage all operational functions, including project management, field supervision, scheduling, logistics, and equipment deployment
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support company growth, profitability, and efficiency
- Standardize processes and best practices across all projects and crews
- Oversee multiple concurrent concrete projects
- Ensure projects meet contractual requirements for scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Review project plans, schedules, manpower loading, and cost reports to proactively manage risks
- Partner with finance and project management teams to monitor job cost reports, margins, and forecasts
- Drive accountability for productivity, labor efficiency, material costs, and equipment utilization
- Identify and execute cost-reduction and margin-improvement opportunities
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with OSHA and company standards
- Ensure consistent compliance with safety programs, training, and documentation
- Maintain quality control standards and address deficiencies promptly
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and office personnel
- Support workforce planning, hiring needs, performance management, and succession planning
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and professional growth across operations
- Oversee planning, maintenance, and utilization of concrete equipment
- Coordinate with procurement and vendors to ensure timely availability of materials and resources
- Partner with Estimating during pursuit and pre-construction phases to assess constructability, staffing, and operational risk
- Support business development by providing operational insight during client meetings and project handoffs
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning and market expansion efforts
Required
- 10 years of experience in concrete construction operations, including significant leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing multiple large-scale concrete projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, means and methods, scheduling, and cost controls
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices
