What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager position at Satterfield and Pontikes Construction, Inc?
Due to Satterfield & Pontikes’ continued growth and expansion, we are adding an Assistant Project Manager to our Fredericksburg team. Your first project will be a $90 million hotel in Fredericksburg. We have a strong portfolio of active projects in the area, complemented by a substantial backlog of upcoming projects valued between $20 million and $300 million. Our pipeline spans multiple sectors, including education, medical, mixed-use, and various other commercial developments.

Requirements:
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management
- 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager on projects over $10 million.
The role you will play:
- Project planning and mobilization.
- Assistance in the preparation of the CPM baseline, monthly CPM schedule updates and narratives, and CPM fragments with changes and delays.
- Assist in timely and accurate Subcontractor Purchasing including the use of S&P bonding policy.
- Processing submittals to achieve the project schedule and the contract documents.
- Expediting the material deliveries of subcontractors and vendors.
- Management of the RFI Process and ensuring the drawings are posted and up to date.
- Chair, with the assistance of the Project Superintendent and Project Manager, subcontractor preconstruction meetings.
- Safety Planning and Performance – Participation in the SOS Program.
- Participation in and management of S&P Quality Control Program.
- Cost reports – assist in weekly and monthly review of job cost reports and preparation of monthly analysis.
- Progress payments – Assisting in preparing and submitting the monthly draw requests consistent with the contract documents while achieving project revenue forecasts.
- Processing and approving the monthly sub/vendor invoices in both a timely and accurate fashion.
- Ensure strict control of subcontractor’s Schedule of Values and Supplier Forms to ensure that subcontractors/vendors do not get ahead on payments.
- Assisting in management of the Change Order Process, both prime and subcontractor.
- Closing out the project in compliance with contract documents.
- Ensure implementation of project management systems as outlined in the Operations and Procedures Manual.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular worksite attendance required.
