The Victim Service Coordinator plays a vital role in providing compassionate, trauma-informed support to child and adult victims of abuse, including sexual assault, and their non-offending caregivers. This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating direct victim services and ensuring victims have access to appropriate advocacy, referrals, and ongoing support throughout their healing process. The Coordinator will work across both the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and the Sexual Assault Center (SAC) programs to deliver seamless, victim-centered care.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide immediate crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy to child victims, adult survivors and non-offending caregivers.
· Conduct comprehensive intake assessments
· Coordinates appointments and referrals of clients for mental health, medical and legal follow-ups.
· Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in client case files and electronic databases.
· Prepare statistical reports, as needed.
· Conduct Forensic Interviews
· Adheres to all confidentiality policies and victim rights.
· Manage 24-hour crisis line during regular work hours and responsible for providing on-call advocacy some nights and weekends, as needed.
· Responsible for patient surveys and maintaining survey statistical data.
· Responsible for follow-up on all victims within 24-48 hrs after intake
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree OR 2 years experience in victim’s services
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related human services field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, child development, sexual assault dynamics and victim rights
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Highly organized with strong documentation and case management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software (e.g., Collaborate, Apricot).
Other Requirements
- Must pass a background check, including child abuse registry and criminal history clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend work and on-call response
- Forensic Interview certification within 6 months of hire date
