Duties
- Set up and maintain clear, visible traffic control signs, cones, and barriers to direct vehicle and pedestrian movement effectively
- Use hand signals, flags, or stop/slow paddles to communicate with drivers and pedestrians, ensuring safe passage through work zones
- Monitor traffic patterns continuously to identify potential hazards or congestion issues and adjust control measures accordingly
- Maintain safety protocols by inspecting work zones regularly and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately
- Document daily activities, incidents, or hazards encountered during shifts to ensure proper record-keeping
Requirements
- Prior experience in traffic control preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn on the job is valued
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills for clear signaling and coordination with team members and driver
- Certification in flagging or traffic control is preferred; training will be provided if necessary
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle a plus
