What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Grant Writing & Proposal Development position at Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. 501(c)(3)?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We are seeking a volunteer with nonprofit grant-writing experience to help us develop strong, reusable grant materials for the Satellite Archaeology Foundation. Our organization supports archaeological research using satellite imagery, remote sensing, field investigation, scientific testing, emerging technologies, and public education. As we begin pursuing foundation and grant funding more systematically, we need a strong core narrative that clearly communicates our mission, research priorities, organizational capabilities, expected impact, and funding needs.
The volunteer will help us develop a reusable grant proposal framework that can be adapted to multiple foundation and grant opportunities. This may include refining our organizational narrative, statement of need, program descriptions, goals and outcomes, impact language, and supporting materials commonly required in grant applications. Where appropriate, we would also like assistance adapting these materials for one or more priority funding opportunities identified through our prospect research. The goal is to create a strong grant-writing foundation that allows us to respond more efficiently and consistently to future funding opportunities.
Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. Mission: The Satellite Archaeology Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to the discovery, documentation, and preservation of overlooked archaeological sites through satellite imagery, remote sensing, field research, artifact analysis, scientific review, and public education. We support responsible research methods that help identify potential archaeological sites, evaluate evidence before field verification, connect researchers and volunteers globally, and provide funding, publication support, and education to advance satellite archaeology and cultural heritage preservation.
