Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Artificial Intelligence Engineer based in Frederick, MD. The AI Engineer will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI systems using Agentic AI frameworks, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and vector database architectures. Responsibilities include building intelligent pipelines, implementing machine learning techniques, and optimizing GenAI-powered applications for real-world government environments.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, conducting data analysis, integrating models into production systems, and ensuring performance, accuracy, and security of AI solutions. The engineer will contribute to the development of mission-focused AI capabilities that support modernization and operational excellence for government partners.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Agentic AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases (vectorDB), and Generative AI technologies
- Strong understanding of Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks, and modern machine learning architectures
- Solid foundation in Computer Science, Software Development, and algorithm design principles
- Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), including model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and conversational AI systems
- Experience building, deploying, and evaluating AI/ML models using Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and related frameworks
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate insights into scalable and actionable AI solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design intelligent systems for mission-driven environments
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced on-site team environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
- Prior experience working in government, public sector, or other mission-critical environments is a plus
