Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a lively, positive manner
- Operate POS systems to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and food payments with precision and integrity
- Upsell bakery items by recommending popular or new products to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cashier area and food handling zones
- Support food preparation tasks when needed, including packaging baked goods or assisting in light kitchen duties
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring proper handling, storage, and serving of bakery products
- Assist with bussing tables or cleaning workstations to uphold a tidy environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, retail math, cashiering or quick service & fast food restaurant environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Experience working in a café, grocery store, or retail setting is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
