Marketing Assistant

Part-Time | Gloucester, MA | $17/hr | Payroll Position

Sassy Square Marketing Agency is looking for a part-time Marketing Assistant to join our team in Gloucester.

This role is a mix of social media management, client communication, scheduling, content organization, and creative project support.

This is not a graphic design position. You will not be responsible for designing posts, logos, flyers, or videos. Your role is to help organize the creative process, write captions, prepare briefs, communicate with clients, schedule content, and keep projects moving.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, creative, comfortable communicating with people, and genuinely interested in marketing, social media, branding, and helping local businesses grow.

This is not a summer-only position. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us!

You’ll help keep client communication, content organization, and social media projects moving smoothly. You’ll work closely with our team to support content planning, client updates, social media scheduling, and internal organization.

A big part of this role is making sure ideas, files, captions, briefs, and client requests don’t get lost in the chaos. Marketing moves fast, and we need someone who can help keep the creative process organized and flowing.

You’ll help with:

Client communication and follow-ups

Scheduling and coordinating content-related tasks

Uploading and organizing files after content sessions

Organizing Google Drive folders and client assets

Researching social media trends, content ideas, and brand inspiration

Writing social media captions

Preparing & sending content for client approval

Scheduling content

Creating briefs for our designers and video editors

Helping keep client projects organized and moving forward

We’re looking for someone who is:

Honest, punctual, and dependable

Local to the North Shore area

Organized and good with time management

Comfortable communicating with clients

Interested in social media, marketing, branding, and business growth

Someone who uses social media personally and understands how people interact online

Curious, thoughtful, and willing to learn

Not afraid to ask questions or talk to people

Able to bring something valuable to the table, even if we need to train the rest

This could be a great fit for a recent grad, someone looking for mother’s hours, or someone creative and organized who wants to grow into the marketing world.

This is a part-time payroll position at $17/hr.

We are looking for about 30 hours per week, no weekends, with flexibility on the exact days and schedule. Ideally, this would be around 5 hours per day, but we’re open to discussing what works best.

Our office is located on Main Street in Gloucester, MA. This is primarily an in-person role, with potential for some hybrid opportunities once the role is established.

You’ll learn how to make  social media work for brands. You’ll gain experience in client communication, content planning, creative briefs, scheduling, you’ll learn to use the industry’s leading tools, and how marketing helps businesses grow through thoughtful communication.

You’ll also learn how a creative marketing agency organizes projects, works with clients, and turns ideas into content that helps businesses show up with confidence.
