Full-Time

About Sasaki

At Sasaki, we believe in the transformative power of interdisciplinary design. Our firm integrates architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, civil engineering, planning, and urban design into one collaborative practice. Headquartered in Boston with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Denver, we are a team of passionate designers working together to solve complex challenges and create spaces that inspire.

We are seeking a mid-level architect or designer (4–12 years of experience) to join our Boston studio as a project designer/project architect. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and inclusive environment where curiosity, collaboration, and leadership are nurtured at every level. They drive the design process, contribute technical and conceptual insight, mentor junior staff, and help foster a culture of continuous learning.

At Sasaki you will be encouraged to have a point of view, to share your thinking often, to push design further, and to develop a comfortable rapport with clients. We prefer to develop our leaders from within and we are looking for project architects and designers who can grow into leadership positions over time.

The Role

We are seeking a Mid-level architect / project designer with exceptional design talent and the ability to excel in fast-paced design competitions, concept design, and development of concepts into implementation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on creative problem-solving, enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines, and is eager to develop design ideas from concept through execution.

As a key member of our design teams, you will play an active role in shaping design narratives, advancing competition entries, and developing the architecture and interiors of projects that define our practice.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and contribute to early-stage design concept generation and storytelling for projects and competitions.

  • Translate conceptual ideas into compelling, buildable architectural solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including landscape, interiors, and planning—to drive holistic design outcomes.

  • Develop design documentation through all project phases.

  • Coordinate with consultants to ensure design intent is carried through technical detailing and execution.

  • Present ideas effectively to clients and design juries using diverse visualization and presentation methods.

  • Take ownership of assigned project components, providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers.

Who You Bring

  • A passionate designer with a strong conceptual eye and ability to articulate design ideas clearly.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments, generating and developing design ideas.

  • Collaborative, curious, and proactive—someone who brings positive energy and initiative to every project.

  • Skilled at balancing creativity with technical rigor and detail.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch) from an accredited program.

  • 4–8 years of professional experience in architectural design.

  • Proven experience in concept and competition design; a strong portfolio demonstrating creative range.

  • High proficiency in RevitRhinoAdobe Creative Suite, and visualization tools.

  • Licensure preferred, or active pursuit of licensure encouraged.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
