Organization Overview: Schwarzman Scholars is a prestigious program aimed at cultivating the next generation of global leaders. With a focus on understanding China’s pivotal role in the world, we bring together up to 150 outstanding young minds from the U.S., China, and beyond for a transformative year at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Backed by over $500 million in philanthropic support, our mission is to empower these scholars as vital connectors between China and the global community.
Opportunity: Schwarzman Scholars summer interns complete project-based tasks to advance specific goals and objectives of the organization. Working in our Midtown East office, under the direction of senior staff, interns get wide exposure to daily operations of a U.S. non-profit. with global stakeholders and programs. Projects include data collection and analysis, contributing to media archives, and following alumni impact stories. Interns attend regular staff and team meetings and are encouraged to contribute ideas to improving organizational effectiveness.
The position term is July 7 – August 20. Interns work up to three days a week, in person, and are compensated at $25 per hour as temporary employees. This opportunity is available to those with current work authorization in the United States who are able to commute to our NYC Office for required in-office days. Relocation support is not available.
2026 Project Description and Responsibilities: This project will support two database projects: the creation of an alumni impact database and the use of AI tools to extract insights from this data set; and updates to prospective employment opportunities for recent graduations of the Schwarzman Scholars program. Data will be collated from collected records and open sources; and the intern will contribute to discussions of how to extract insights from this data using AI tools and in compliance with applicable regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to build and flex database management skills and get an understanding of the real-world application of AI products and services.

Qualifications:
- Some office experience required; experience with data collection and analysis preferred.
- Strong work ethic, demonstrated professionalism, and a track record of positive relationships with prior supervisors or employers.
- Capacity to work with alumni, board, staff, university leadership, consultants, and volunteers in a dynamic, results-oriented manner.
