Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed, accurate repair orders using estimating software, ensuring all customer requests are clearly documented
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnostics, repairs, and estimated time frames.
- Explain recommended additional services such as suspension work, brake repairs, shocks & struts, and other repair services.
- Provide transparent and honest explanations of recommended services and costs to customers to foster trust and satisfaction
- Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person, ensuring timely updates and follow-up on vehicle status
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper records of payments
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive service writing or auto estimating within a repair shop setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, European vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures
- Familiarity with estimating software
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly, professionally, and honestly
- Ability to explain Technician recommended services confidently while prioritizing customer needs and satisfaction
- Knowledge of essential auto services including oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repairs, and oil changes
- Cash handling skills with attention to detail for accurate transaction processing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
