Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on IT Technician to support installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT, networking, and low voltage systems. This role involves physical field work, use of hand and power tools, working at heights, and onsite technical execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable with structured cabling, CCTV systems, PC, POS, network equipment installation, and wireless solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands on installation and maintenance of IT and low voltage systems
- Install, mount, and configure CCTV cameras and related equipment
- Pull, route, and secure network and low voltage cables through ceilings, walls, conduits, and racks
- Perform cable crimping and termination for Ethernet and low voltage cabling
- Install and terminate patch panels and network outlets
- Install and mount network racks and cabinets
- Install, connect and troubleshoot PC, desktop, Printers, POS and other IT equipment.
- Install, rack, and connect switches, routers, firewalls, and other network equipment
- Assist with basic configuration and connectivity testing of network devices
- Install and support wireless networking solutions including access points
- Drill, mount, and secure equipment using appropriate tools and hardware
- Work safely on ladders and at heights while following safety procedures
- Label cables, ports, and equipment according to standards
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues onsite
- Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work area
- Follow installation drawings, layouts, and technical instructions
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven hands on experience in IT, networking, or low voltage installation work
- Experience with CCTV installation and basic configuration
- Strong knowledge of cable pulling, crimping, and termination
- Experience installing racks, switches, routers, and network equipment
- Familiarity with wireless networking installations
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work on ladders and at heights safely
- Basic understanding of networking concepts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to perform field based work
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or training in networking, CCTV, or structured cabling
- Experience with access control or alarm systems
- Familiarity with safety standards and onsite work practices
Work Environment
- Hands on field based role
- Requires physical activity including lifting, climbing, drilling, and cable pulling
- Indoor and outdoor installation environments
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
