SUMMARY
The TAG Scientist supports implementation and continuous improvement of product specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing processes across facilities. This role works closely with Operations, QA, and R&D to maintain product consistency, troubleshoot production issues, support change control, and analyze factory data. The individual must be driven, detail‑oriented, and possess strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fermentation principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
BOM & Specification Management
- Maintains, verifies, and updates Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production specifications.
- Ensures accuracy and version control for specifications, recipes, and documents.
- Supports handoff of BOMs from R&D/SKU Creation into plant execution.
Production Troubleshooting & Quality Support
- Assists in production troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Supports quality investigations and corrective actions.
- Partners with Operations and QA to resolve process deviations and performance issues.
Change Control & Process Improvements
- Participates in change control for materials, processes, and specifications.
- Identifies and leads process improvement opportunities for yield, cost, and efficiency.
- Works collaboratively with teams to optimize equipment and manufacturing performance.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Uses statistical tools to gather, analyze, and interpret shop‑floor data.
- Pulls data from systems such as Ignition, MES, and SCADA.
- Creates visual graphs, dashboards, and reports to communicate process and product consistency.
- Presents data insights to Operations, QA, and R&D teams.
Cross‑Functional Technical Liaison
- Serves as a technical link between manufacturing, QA, and R&D.
- Supports execution of new product and process introductions.
- Communicates technical updates, changes, and risks across teams.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Trains plant teams on product requirements and process controls.
- Provides ongoing education for operators and QA personnel.
- Develops and maintains clear technical documentation and training materials.

This position is not responsible for leading others.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, dairy operations, quality, or technical services required.
- Experience with Ignition, MES, or other factory data systems preferred.
- Statistical analysis and data visualization proficiency is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of fermentation principles and food manufacturing processes required.

WORK LOCATION
This is an onsite position in Plymouth or Antigo, WI.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 5%). A valid driver’s license is required.
