Business Manager
Company: Sarkes Tarzian, Inc. // ST Radio
Location: Ft. Wayne, IN
Overview
The Business Manager oversees the administrative operations and is part of the Radio accounting team of Sarkes Tarzians Fort Wayne Radio division. The accounting team helps ensure accurate financial reporting, sound accounting practices, compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, and effective support for station leadership and employees. The Business Manager also supervises administrative support staff and provides backup assistance with traffic (advertisement scheduling) functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and financial recordkeeping.
- Support monthly and year-end financial reporting, account reconciliations, and annual audits.
- Prepare and manage the divisions three-year budget, monitor expenses and cash flow, and provide financial reports to leadership.
- Process payroll using ADP, employee status changes, insurance, 401(k) benefits, and personnel records.
- Supervise and support administrative staff, coordinate office operations, and provide backup traffic support as needed.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Accounting or a related field (required)
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting (preferred)
- At least ONE year of accounting or business-office experience, including supervisory experience.
- Strong accounting, mathematical, budgeting, and expense-management skills, with knowledge of payroll tax requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience with NetSuite (preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience in a business office or broadcast environment (preferred)
