Our busy law firm is growing, and we are looking for talent that works hard to represent our clients well. The prime candidate will work seamlessly with other attorneys well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve clients. If you have courtroom experience, excellent research and writing skills, can easily use today’s technology, and communicate effectively, we would love to connect!
Responsibilities:
Must be able to keep track of your billable and non-billable time and enter your time entries into our case management system.
Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action.
Work with and delegate effectively to paralegals, legal assistants law clerks, and administrative assistants.
Draft correspondence, pleadings, affidavits motions, and memoranda.
Represent clients in court to argue motions and try cases.
Qualifications:
*Admitted to practice law in South Carolina and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar
*Strong writing and communication skills.
*Proficient in online legal research platforms.
*Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
*Experience with legal drafting, negotiation, and litigation
*Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
*Able to work independently while handling multiple files
Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years preferred
Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
Compensation: Dependent on experience. Pay range $70,000 - $125,000 yearly plus bonus opportunities
