The Estimator plays a critical role in driving project success from concept to completion. Working closely with the Lead Estimator, this position is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and strategic project estimates. From initial assignment through project award and handoff to Operations, the Estimator is deeply involved in every phase of the preconstruction process and remains a trusted resource throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to develop accurate and detailed project estimates
- Review, analyze, and interpret project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to fully understand scope, risks, and opportunities
- Perform precise quantity takeoffs and identify all required work activities
- Prepare comprehensive estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and timelines to support planning and execution
- Evaluate cost scenarios, including subcontracting versus self-performance strategies
- Source and engage subcontractors and material suppliers
- Develop estimates using HCSS HeavyBid software
- Track, evaluate, and pursue new project opportunities
- Lead the transition of awarded projects from Estimating to Operations to ensure a seamless handoff
- Support the Operations team by providing clarification and pricing for change orders as needed
- Contribute innovative and value-driven ideas to improve project outcomes and competitiveness
- Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and development

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in earthwork estimating required
