Deskel Technician - 2nd Shift

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift — Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3am

Shift Premium: Additional $1.50 for each hour worked on 2nd shift

SUMMARY

The Deskel Technician is responsible for removing cut metal parts from skeletons following laser or punch operations and preparing them for the next stage in production. This role also serves as a floating/utility team member, assisting wherever needed on the shop floor. Responsibilities include stacking parts on pallets or in bins for automated machinery, maintaining organization, and supporting safe and efficient operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Functions

• Remove finished parts from metal skeletons after cutting operations, ensuring accuracy and safety.

• Inspect parts for quality, checking for burrs, sharp edges, and dimensional accuracy.

• Clean and organize parts for the next stage of fabrication or shipping.

• Stack parts on pallets or in bins for automated machinery or downstream processes.

• Serve as a floating/utility team member, assisting other production areas as needed to meet daily goals.

• Safely handle heavy or sharp materials using proper PPE and lifting techniques.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area, including scrap metal and cuttings.

• Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor.

• Follow all company safety policies, including lockout/tagout, machine operation, and chemical handling when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.

• Ability to work independently, as a team member, and in a floating/utility capacity as needed.

• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to support team success across departments.
