Join a Growing, High-Performing Personal Injury Firm
For more than 15 years, Sargent Law Firm has represented injured people and families throughout Southern California and Idaho. Our practice covers car, trucking, and motorcycle accidents, dog bites, and premises liability.
- Our Vision: To positively impact the lives of our clients and local communities through service.
- Our Mission: To help people who have suffered injury or death by providing access to the highest level of legal representation, medical treatment, and financial compensation.
About the Role
Sargent Law Firm is hiring an experienced litigation paralegal for our Oceanside office. You'll support attorneys on personal injury cases in active litigation, keeping calendars, filings, and discovery on track from complaint through trial. This is a fully in-office position.
We are a modern, tech-forward firm that actively integrates AI and automation tools into our workflows. Candidates must be comfortable adopting new technologies and using AI to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.
What We Offer
- A consistent schedule. Full-time, 40 hours a week, in office.
- Well-staffed cases. You'll work alongside attorneys and case managers with clear roles.
- Modern systems. We're a Mac-based office running Filevine, and we're integrating AI tools into case work.
- Room to grow. We're a plaintiff-side firm — your work goes toward getting injured people real results, not defending insurers.
- Benefits. Health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off and holidays; retirement plan.

- Support attorneys across a shared litigation caseload
- Manage the litigation calendar, including court dates, filing deadlines, discovery cutoffs, and expert disclosures
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and correspondence
- Prepare and file court documents and handle e-service
- Track discovery deadlines and follow up on outstanding responses
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and expert availability
- Subpoena and organize records, including medical records and bills
- Prepare exhibits, binders, and trial materials
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and vendors
- Keep case files accurate and up to date in Filevine
Qualifications

- Personal injury litigation experience (required); plaintiff-side preferred
- Proven ability to support multiple attorneys and prioritize competing deadlines
- Working knowledge of California civil procedure, court filing, and e-service
- Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail
- Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new software; Filevine experience is a plus
- Paralegal certificate or degree preferred
- Able to work on-site in Oceanside full-time. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
