POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an entry-level Technical Writer/Instructional Designer to support the Florida Department of Transportation in Tallahassee, Florida. You will design and develop computer-based training and multimedia learning content within a collaborative Organizational Development team.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
- Instructional Design or Curriculum Development
- Adult Education or Performance Improvement
- Graphic Design, Digital Design, or Animation
- Multimedia, Communications, or a related field
EXPERIENCE
1–2 years of experience or working knowledge in:
- Instructional design or curriculum development
- Adult learning or performance improvement
- Graphic design or multimedia production
- Computer-based training (CBT) development
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES
Familiarity with Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, multimedia development tools, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop Computer-Based Training (CBT) using Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate, incorporating learning activities, quizzes, and interactions that support knowledge retention, transfer of learning, and organizational training objectives.
- Apply adult learning theory, scenario-based learning techniques, and instructional design best practices.
- Create graphics including banners, logos, flyers, posters, infographics, and job aids using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
- Produce and edit audio and video content for websites and CBTs using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Captivate, and Articulate 360.
- Develop storyboards, follow project schedules, and manage workload independently.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships across the team.
- Support special projects and initiatives aligned with the Organizational Development Office.
