Responsibilities
- Provide professional shampooing, scalp treatments, and conditioning services tailored to each client’s hair type and needs
- Assist stylists with hair styling, blowouts, and preparation for coloring or other treatments
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools, workstations, and salon equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Support retail sales by recommending hair care products such as shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids that suit client needs
- Manage front desk duties including appointment scheduling using salon software like MINDBODY, greeting clients warmly, and handling client inquiries
- Assist with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application as needed to enhance client experience
- Upsell additional services or retail products to maximize client satisfaction and salon revenue while maintaining excellent communication skills
Experience
- Previous experience working in the beauty industry is highly preferred; familiarity with salon operations is a plus
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques and color theory to assist stylists or educate clients
- Skills in barbering, hair threading, or working with hair extensions are advantageous
- Experience using salon software such as MINDBODY for scheduling and client management is desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse clients
- Understanding of sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment at all times
- Ability to mentor new team members or assist in store management tasks when needed
