Job Description
Organizational Overview:
Responsible for the care of the physical facilities of the school and other buildings as assigned under director
of site principal and Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities:
(Depending on assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:)
o Routine work, including clearning, sweeping, mopping, polishing, dusting ,
otherwise caring for floors, walls, furniture, toilet room fixtures and other elements of
the structure.
o Uses mechanical equipment as assigned.
o Maintenace of P.E. and custodial equipment
o Deliver supplies as needed
o Responsible for maintaining schedule for timely work completion
o Must be alert to safety hazards. Avoid operating mechanical or other equipment
when children are in the area. Responsible for not leaving unattended any
equipment which might prove dangerous. Promptly corrects or reports any safety or
sanitary hazard to supervisor.
Qualifications:
o Completion of twelfth grade education
o Willingness to cooperate
o Pass pre-employment physical
o Ability to read and understand English
Through knowledge of:
o Care and use of all methods and equipment needed to properly maintain facility,
including general maintenance procedures.
Ability to:
o Work cooperatively with others
o Follow oral and written directions
o Perform moderately heavy manual tasks, lifting 40 pounds frequently and 50 pounds
occasionally. Functions include bending, twisting, lifting and pushing/pulling.
