What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at SARATOGA SPRINGS ANIMAL HOSPITAL?
We are looking to add an experienced veterinary technician to our team! A veterinary technician is the veterinarian's primary medical support. They begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases. They have a very significant role in communication with and educating clients about their pets. This available position is 34-36 hours a week. No weekends or holidays!
Responsibilities:
Obtaining patient vitals
Assisting doctor during pet examination
Maintain accurate medical records
Effectively restrain pets even when large or difficult
Administer medications IV, SQ, IM, PO
Perform dental cleanings
Place IV Catheters
Create Eatinates and present to client
Perform laboratory procedures
Assist in prepping for surgery
