Job Description:
- Must be qualified to perform medical record coding services as required by the VA PWS.
- Knowledge and application of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, CMS and AMA coding guidelines.
- Ability to review medical documentation and assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
- Must comply with VHA/VA coding policies, information security rules, and privacy regulations.
- Must have documented work experience performing coding functions in a medical environment.
- Must meet all experience and competency requirements outlined under Technical Capability in the solicitation.
- Must protect PHI and ensure all coding work follows federal, VA, and HIPAA standards.
- Contractor must demonstrate that the assigned coder(s) possess adequate training, certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent), and experience.
