Schedule:
Evening event shifts
- Start time between 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
- End time between 9:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Primarily evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays during the Event Season (May – October)
Position Summary
SPAC is seeking qualified and compassionate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to provide on-site medical support for guests, staff, and performers during our exciting summer concert and event season. This role is perfect for certified EMTs who thrive in a fast-paced, live-event environment and want to make a difference while working at one of New York’s most iconic performing arts venues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergency and non-emergency medical calls during events
- Provide basic life support and first aid in accordance with NYS EMT-B standards
- Assess injuries and illnesses quickly and deliver appropriate care on scene
- Drive medical cart on venue grounds to transport patients to the on-site clinic (training provided)
- Document all incidents accurately and maintain confidentiality
- Conduct pre-event equipment checks and restock medical supplies after each event
- Communicate effectively via radio with event staff, security, and external EMS agencies
- Assist with general event support tasks when not on medical calls
- Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
Qualifications:
- Current New York State EMT-B certification (or higher) required
- Current CPR certification required
- Valid New York State driver’s license required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Prior event, festival, or high-volume public venue experience preferred
- FEMA ICS 100 and 700 training strongly preferred
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability for evenings/weekends required
