What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control Room Specialist position at Sarasota County Sheriff's Office?
The control room specialist will be responsible for monitoring all facility doors, gates, and cameras via closed circuit screens, and controlling access/movement for the entire correctional facility. The control room specialist must be able to multitask, be proficient in correctional facility technologies and knowledgeable of the entire correctional facility layout. The control room specialist will be responsible for any other functions deemed appropriate by the bureau commander. This is a safety sensitive position.
General Description of Duties:
Perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, monitoring the closed-circuit screens, maintaining/updating control room logs, reporting inmate counts, control movement through the area, order supplies, distribute mail, generate reports and keep appropriate records.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment required to perform the position tasks.
- Efficient in time management skills relating to daily work activities, tasks, and special assignments.
- Ability to work shifts which will include evening, weekend and holidays.
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, demonstrating an awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
