What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant Specialist - Finance Bureau position at Sarasota County Sheriff's Office?
The Finance Administrative Assistant Specialist provides administrative, clerical, and operational support to the Finance Bureau. This role will support day to day accounting operational functions to include generating reports, coordinating communications, managing document retention, and assisting with the budget process.
General Description of Duties:
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Bureau Commander
• Prepare and process financial forms and reports as needed or requested
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports
• Coordinate budget preparation activities and monitor budget documentation
• Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing files and responding to requests
• Monitor department supplies and manage purchase requests
• Assist the accounts payable function by tracking payments and distributing checks
• General clerical duties to include scanning and managing documents retention
• Receive, route and disperse telephone calls and/or messages
Minimum Requirements:
• 4 years related work experience, or associates degree and 2 years of related work experience.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact with sworn and civilian staff, vendors, and external agencies.
