As the Creative Services Manager in the Communications Department, you will provide daily oversight of the creative services division and development of all creative content for the Sarasota County Government. This position is responsible for the flow and quality of work throughout the department as well as the management of projects and special events. This position is the primary liaison for managing and partnering on communications projects, monitoring budget impacts, and approvals for Creative Services. Leadership:
Provide day-to-day management of Creative Services staff; evaluate staffing requirements; set the tone and creates a spirit of departmental teamwork, enthusiasm, professional and high-quality work. Mentor, coach, counsel, train and develop staff. Assist in establishing benchmarks and goals.
Identify and address Communications’ operational issues and ensure continuous improvement of systems and processes. Develop and implement content policies, procedures, and guidelines. Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation activities around responsibility; oversee financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits; review audit findings and ensures appropriate controls are established and implemented.
Content Administration:
Oversee the prioritizing, planning, implementation, workflow, and tracking of multiple client projects including video production, graphics design, web content and design, and other special projects.
Develop and maintain work management processes and systems.
Coordinate resources and ensures project plans are created, timelines met, cost analysis determined, and products produced are high quality and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Responsible for leading/managing all campaigns, projects, and other special events.
Provide project support to staff as needed; plans and organizes special events for internal clients as assigned.
Financial:
Assist with preparation and management of department budget; ensure procurement of cost-effective materials and services; may assist with RFPs and management of contracts for the Communications Department.
Collaboration:
Build and maintain collaborative and positive working relationships with internal and external customers including county leadership, the board, local governments, and partnering agencies.
Emergencies:
Every county team member has a vital role and responsibility during an emergency such as a natural disaster. During an activation of the county's Emergency Operations Center, this position will serve in the county's Joint Information Center supporting the Communications' mission to keep the community informed and engaged.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Mass Communications, or a related field AND four (4) years of related experience.
Two or more years of supervisory experience.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced professional certification.
Professional experience in local government public affairs, communications and/or marketing.
