Manager - Day Program (Adults w/ Developmental Disabilities)

Job Summary

SARAH Tuxis is a non-profit Agency that supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Day Program Manager will oversee the daily operations of largest program in the agency, located in Westbrook, CT. This Day Program supports 30 individuals, with 10-15 staff. Position will ensure the individuals we support meet all medical, behavioral, and social outcomes in their daily lives. Position will manage a nine-room, themed facility, with varying activities occurring throughout all spaces. EXPERIENCE MANAGING DAY PROGRAMS WILL RECEIVE PRIORITY CONSIDERATION.

2-3 years of experience managing in this type of setting preferred. DDS experience preferred, but not required.

The Group Home Manager Must:

• Model a person centered philosophy and provide leadership to Direct Support Professionals and Assistant Managers.
• Have a working knowledge of applicable state and federal systems effecting the individuals we support (DDS, DSS, Social Security, HUD, etc.)
• Demonstrate team leadership and participate in the LON Assessment, IP Development, support strategies, and Outcome Development.
• Be able to be flexible and work weekends if needed.
• Make sure that the regulations of these organizations are adhered to to ensure the home is in compliance.

Training and Certifications:

• Must be able to obtain CPR, First Aid and state Medication Certifications, as well as additional state and agency mandated training.

Duties

• Lead and supervise service staff, including direct oversight of program staff, ensuring effective team management and staff development.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate program activities tailored to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities, promoting community integration and personal achievement.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the day program, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, community partners, and board members to support ongoing engagement and collaboration.
• Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to social services programs; maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
• Manage program budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of service quality.
• Lead efforts in program development by identifying opportunities for growth, implementing new initiatives, and integrating best practices in social services.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reporting, communication, and data management to support program operations effectively.

Experience

• Proven experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities or in related social services roles.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams within social service or behavioral health settings.
• Strong relationship management skills to foster partnerships with clients, families, community organizations, and stakeholders.
• Experience developing and implementing programs that serve underserved communities; bilingual skills are highly desirable.
• Background in managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining detailed administrative records.
• Excellent written communication skills for report writing, client documentation, and correspondence.
• Technical project management experience in overseeing social service programs or community initiatives is preferred.
• Leadership in social services administration with a focus on team management and staff supervision in behavioral health or related fields.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
