We’re hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals to support our shoreline residences serving Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Clinton, Madison, Guilford, Branford, and surrounding communities.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional you’ll provide compassionate, person-centered support while helping individuals achieve greater independence and participate fully in their communities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal care
• Administering medications in accordance with agency policies, HIPAA guidelines, and individual care plans
• Preparing nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences
• Assisting with household responsibilities and chores
• Transporting and accompanying individuals to appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
• Take vital signs, observe changes and report findings to healthcare professionals
• Utilize Hoyer lifts to safely transport residents with mobility challenges
• Promoting independence, choice, dignity, and community inclusion
• Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote involvement and inclusion.
• Complete detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, as well as maintain accurate records
• Document any safety incidents in accordance with regulations
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive home environment

What You’ll Need

• Valid Connecticut Driver’s License
• Reliable vehicle with current registration and insurance in your name
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and/or overnight shifts as needed
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and satisfactory motor vehicle driving record
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to providing respectful, person-centered support
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
