What are the responsibilities and job description for the Competitive Dance Instructor/Choreographer position at Sarah's Dance Academy?
The Dance Instructor will work closely with students in a small classroom setting to help them develop the skills required for this dance form. The goal is to inspire a lifelong appreciation for classical dance, and the ideal candidate will have prior experience and/or an advanced degree in the subject.
Responsibilities:
- Teach children's classes.
- Be charismatic and passionate about dance.
- Have experience dancing.
- Be familiar with general pedagogical concepts and methods.
- Have a formal dance education, e.g. a bachelor's degree in dance or an M.Ed in K-12 dance education.
- Dance very well.
- Be flexible regarding lesson planning and curriculum to meet the needs of students at different levels of development.
