SUMMARY: Provides support to students, parents and school staff on academic achievement with a focus on improving student attendance and behavior
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Confers with parents/guardians and other community resources regarding educational or social well-being of students as well as other challenges students may face
- Meets with school personnel, students, parents, guardians, community officials, while at all times maintaining a confidential, private, professional attitude
- Maintains appropriate records of student’s family contacts
- Submits weekly reports of all activities regarding meetings and communications to administrator
- Documents all work activities on a daily basis on required time and effort log
- Responsible for inventory of supplies and materials that is needed for their position
- Seeks necessary resources that meets student’s needs and communicates to parents
- Assists with coordination of special events
- Assists with the recruitment of parent volunteers
- Serves as an interpreter for bilingual students or parents as needed
- Prepares and distributes flyers and announcements for school and community related events
