Floral Assistant

Job Summary

The Floral Assistant, Head Florist, and floral department within Sarah Khan Event Styling is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the team in all tasks related to the operation of the business. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism.

Duties Onsite:

• Manage unload of florals from trucks to designated areas within property
• Prep work areas for florists with needed tools and materials to begin installation (lay out tarps, provide supply bins, layout specific floral and foliage for installation)
• Consolidate buckets of flowers and keep floral work areas clean
• Upon arrival on site inspect quality of pre made arrangements and set aside pieces that need replacement
• Setup each centerpiece location with necessary items to allow ease of floral install
• Clean up any floral debris from centerpiece/table flooring areas staging/install areas
• Quality control of all sites on property where SKES has installed floral for best quality flowers and cleanliness.

Duties Studio:

• Wash and prep buckets for incoming floral order
• label all buckets for recipes that need to be pulled
• Pull all vases and materials for arrangements
• Prep oasis/chicken wire/tape and mechanics for all vessels as needed
• Calculate all floral supplies and materials that need to be ordered for each event.
• Track orders and ensure they are delivered in time for event
• Continually organize floral buckets/floral work area during the day and prep floral area at the end of the day for following event day
• Prep and create floral supply box
• Overseeing the care and proper hydration of flowers in the studio.
• Packing and preparing Florals to be transported on site safely.
• Overseeing floral delivery from suppliers to ensure correct varieties and quantities have arrived

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
