Role Description
This is an on-site, part-time position located in Pittsburgh, PA, for a Lifeguard at Sarah Heinz House. The Lifeguard will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals using the swimming facilities by diligently monitoring activities in and around the pool area. Tasks include enforcing pool safety rules, conducting regular inspections of rescue equipment, maintaining cleanliness and order in and around the pool, providing immediate emergency response when necessary, and ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. Lifeguards may also cover our locker rooms as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficient in ensuring pool safety, including administering CPR, First Aid, and water rescue techniques; must hold valid lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications
- Lifeguard certificate already up to date
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with youth, staff, and community members
- Attention to detail and the ability to stay alert and focused during shifts
- Basic swimming skills to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies
- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety regulations respectfully and effectively
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for children and adults
- Experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting is a plus
Shifts available:
Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2pm; 9am-5:30pm; 3:30pm-8:30pm
Salary : $15 - $18
