Responsibilities
- Coordinate freight shipments by managing transportation schedules, dispatching carriers, and ensuring timely deliveries
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and partners to foster trust and repeat business
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms with carriers and clients to optimize pricing and service levels
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software.
- Manage data entry tasks related to shipment details, tracking information, and compliance documentation such as FDA regulations when applicable
- Generate leads through inside sales efforts, lead generation activities, and B2B sales strategies to expand client base.
Requirements
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI platforms, and AS400 systems
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with the ability to manage contracts effectively
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to freight handling when applicable
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing dispatching tasks efficiently
- Exceptional communication skills for customer relationship management and inside sales activities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on sales management and lead generation activities
