Sterile Processing Technician
Job Description
Responsible for the cleaning and sterilizing of all items pertinent to the operations of the center.
Monday - Friday as early as 6:00am
Pay based on experience starting at $17.79
Responsibilities
Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center., Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance, and participates in emergency preparedness drills., Assures the adequate functioning and cleaning of all autoclaves and other sterilization/cleaning equipment., Attends in-service training, required education, conferences, and meetings as required., Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and employees. Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy., Complies with Policies and Procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment., Coordinates and implements AAMI standards for the sterilization of instruments and supplies., Coordinates the availability of instruments/supplies for cases as needed., Evaluates current sterile processing practices through quality and performance improvement measures., Facilitates turnover times to promote operating room efficiency., Follows all equipment and safety guidelines, and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment., Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background., Maintains adequate supplies needed for sterilization process., Maintains complete and accurate documentation., Maintains designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the center., Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team., Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
